Combo ORB Context Engine on NQ 1m — EDGE grade, DAY TYPE, SCENARIO, BIAS, VWAP ROLE, IB and target levels

// Live NQ session — Context Engine classifying a Trend day before 9:45 AM

The Problem It Solves

Every NQ trading day has a personality. Some days trend hard in one direction. Some days chop back and forth. Some days do nothing until 2 PM then explode. The strategy that works on a Trend day will destroy your account on a Rotational day — and most traders don't figure out which one they're in until it's too late.

The Context Engine solves this by classifying the day type in real time, starting from the opening range. Before you take a single trade, you know what kind of day the market is setting up — and that changes everything about your approach.

What It Classifies

Day Type 01
Trend Day
Directional move from the open. Hold runners, add on pullbacks, don't fade. The Context Engine flags this early when ORB breaks with conviction and VWAP holds as support/resistance.
Day Type 02
Rotational Day
Range-bound chop between levels. Fade the extremes, take profits fast, don't hold for runners. The engine identifies this when ORB fails to break cleanly and VWAP acts as a magnet.
Day Type 03
Breakout Day
Builds in a range then breaks hard. The engine reads the compression and flags the potential breakout before it happens. When it triggers, you ride the move — not chase it.
Day Type 04
Reversal Day
Opens in one direction, reverses hard. The most dangerous day type for traders who don't recognize it. The Context Engine catches the early signs — gap fill failure, VWAP role shift, ORB trap.

The HUD Overlay

Everything the Context Engine computes is displayed in a clean HUD overlay on your TradingView chart. No cluttered indicators, no conflicting signals. One panel, three readings:

Day Type
Current classification updated in real time as the session develops
VWAP Role
Support, resistance, or magnet — tells you how price relates to VWAP right now
ORB State
Break, hold, or fail — the opening range's current status and what it means
// Why this matters A Scalloper Buildup Fade on a Trend day is a continuation trade — hold for a runner. The same Buildup Fade on a Rotational day is a mean-reversion trade — take profit fast. The Context Engine is what tells you which one you're in. Without it, you're guessing. With it, you're adapting.

Pairs With the Scalloper

The Context Engine tells you WHAT kind of day it is. The Scalloper v4.1 tells you WHERE to enter. Together, they form the complete Combo ORB system:

  1. Context Engine reads the day type — Trend, Rotational, Breakout, or Reversal
  2. Scalloper identifies a zone — one of the 4 setup types aligns with structure
  3. You execute with context — trade management changes based on the day type classification

You can run the Context Engine alone as a day type filter for your existing strategy. But combined with the Scalloper, it becomes a full system — context, structure, and execution.
